Just like all of us, our pets get sick, physical ailments, and experience emotional imbalances and mental/spiritual challenges.
Homeopathic medicine for cats and dogs is a holistic method using natural substances to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. Just like in humans, homeopathy can be used to treat a wide variety of conditions, from allergies to diarrhea. Homeopathy concentrates on care of the whole animal with methods that are specific, gentle and sympathetic to the body’s needs. It is based on the utilization of specially prepared, refined dilutions of herbs, minerals and other natural substances, and can be a great alternative treatment option for pets.
Many people now take their pets to holistic veterinary specialists to seek advice in treating a variety of illnesses and disorders, including chronic conditions like digestive issues, skin irritations, arthritis, and respiratory problems. Homeopathic medicine can also be used to treat acute conditions such as diarrhea, bites, and stings. Homeopathy is an effective alternative or accompaniment to many conventional medicines and is often used as a last resort for treating chronic and recurring conditions.
Some of the main advantages of homeopathy include:
Common homeopathic remedies
The most commonly used homeopathic remedies include:
When it comes to your pets diet, aim for variety to ensure the best balance of nutrients and use organically raised and minimally processed foods wherever possible. Try to be patient yet persistent as you gradually introduce new foods to your animal friend. Pets will often hesitate to eat new food at first simply because the foods are unfamiliar.
MEATS
It is recommended that less than 25% of your pet’s diet should be meat. Min 18% for dogs (adult maintenance, and 22% for reproductive growth period. And 26% for cats
The more active your pet is, the higher is the animal protein requirement
Recommended meat include:
Lean meats such as turkey and/or giblets, liver (beef, chicken, turkey), mackerel, tuna, heart (beef, chicken, turkey), lean hamburger, lean duck, rabbit, various fishes.
You can use combination of muscle or flesh meats with organ meats (heart, liver, kidney, giblets) If your use raw liver, it shouldn’t be more than 10% of the meat intake
EGGS AND DIARY PRODUCTS
Another good source of protein.
We recommended eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, milk (raw is better than pasteurized)
Rather than giving plain raw eggs, add them to freshly cooked grains to improve food texture
GRAINS
Grains should make up around 50% of your pet’s diet. It’s a very cost-effective and healthy source of carbs, vitamins and minerals. Combining 2 types of grains is beneficial to the balance of amino-acids.
SNACKS
All pets love their snacks, but don’t let tasty treats make up more than 20% of your pet diet.
Always use raw dog bones because cooked bones can splinter into scarp fragments, also avoid frozen bones which can cause damage to their teeth and gums.
Make sure your biscuits are fresh and never stale. Homemade biscuits are always the best, but not everyone has the time to make them.
When it comes to fruits, make them a part of their regular meal. Try some figs, dates, prunes, apples, bananas, berry, or raw nuts.
Some other options and remedies to improve your pet’s health can be:
OILS: fish oils, safflower, sunflower, corn, borage, evening primrose oil
